MTVs Video Music Awards is over for another year as the likes of Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter and Katy Perry get recognition.
Another edition of the MTV Video Music Awards, also known as the VMAs, has come to an end. On the evening of Wednesday, September 11, the UBS Arena in New York hosted the 40th edition of the ceremony that celebrates the best music videos of the year.
The event was hosted by rapper Megan Thee Stallion, and included performances by Anitta, Benson Boone, Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, Eminem, Halsey, Katy Perry, Karol G, Lenny Kravitz, Rauw Alejandro, and Sabrina Carpenter who kept the audience vibe high throughout.
Regarding the nominations, Taylor Swift led the list with 10 nods. The 34-year-old superstar was followed by Post Malone, with whom she shared credits on Fortnite, earning nine nominations. Sabrina Carpenter, Eminem, and Ariana Grande were also among the most nominated, each receiving six nominations, while SZA and Megan Thee Stallion garnered five.

Thanks to her impeccable artistic career, Katy Perry was honored with a special award. The best-selling female artist in Capitol Records’ history received this year’s Video Vanguard Award.
