The 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards are coming up. The award show will be held on Sunday, February 26 at Los Angeles’ Fairmont Century Plaza.

While other award ceremonies award honor the best in film on every level of the filmmaking process, the SAG awards honor the best in acting. It is an award show by and for actors only.

Here’s a look at this year’s nominees.

The leading nominations

This year, the films ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’ and ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ lead the number of nominations in the film categories, each earning five nominations.

Both films are nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, a highly coveted award considered to be one of the highest honors given by the award show.

The former is a dark Irish comedy written and directed by Martin McDonagh about a friendship gone wrong. The film stars Colin Farrell, who’s also up for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor. The nomination is a first for the actor at the SAGs, but he recently won a Golden Globe for the role this year.

The Daniels’ ‘Everything Everywhere’ is a science fiction-influenced comedy/drama about parallel universes starring Michelle Yeoh who recently won a Golden Globe for the role and who is also nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor at the SAGs. Her co-star and fellow Golden Globe winner Ke Huy Quan is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role.

Joining ‘Banshees’ and ‘Everything Everywhere’ for outstanding cast performance is ‘Babylon’ directed by Damien Chazelle, ‘The Fabelmans’ directed by Steven Spielberg, and Sarah Polley’s ‘Woman Talking’.

The television show ‘Ozark’ leads the television categories with four nominations, followed by ‘Barry’, ‘Better Call Saul’ and ‘Only Murders in the Building’.
