Update:

In an interview with Brett Baier on Fox News, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the explosive Oval Office meeting with President Donald Trump that took place this morning.

Baier asked the Ukrainian leader if he thought he disrespected President Trump and the American people. Zelenskyy made clear that he was grateful for the support his country has received from the US over the last three years. He did not apologize for his conduct, and instead that it was important to have difficult conversations, and that it might be more productive to do so away from the eyes of the media.

Zelenskyy said that he was not interested in getting back to the negotiating table today, but underscored the importance that the relationship with the US remains strong. He remained worried that a deal reached with Russia without security guarantees for Ukraine left the country vulnerable to future aggression.

Baier also asked the Ukrainian leader what he thought about Senator Lindsey Graham’s comments calling on him to resign. “Only Ukrainians, with all due respect to Lindsey, [...] will vote for their president,” said Zelenskyy.
