Pete Davidson is set to make his return to ‘Saturday Night Live’ as host on May 6, but fans shouldn’t expect the former cast member to make any cracks about ex Kim Kardashian.

Why there won’t be any Kim Kardashian jokes when Pete Davidson hosts ‘SNL’

The 29-year-old only left the show following Season 47 in 2022, meaning he’ll see plenty of familiar faces when he hosts the show for the first time.

While Davidson will be promoting his new series, ‘Bupkis’, which is produced by SNL chief Lorne Michaels when he hits the stage at Studio 8H, don’t expect him to make any cracks about Kardashian during his monologue or any of his skits.

Page Six reports that Davidson will go along with any quips the show directs at him, but he will avoid anything related to his relationship with the reality TV star.

“He’s being a gentleman,” a source told the outlet. The couple, who split back in August 2022 after nine months together, reportedly agreed to “drop everything” and “move on.”

“That’s why she’s not mentioned in his stand-up,” the source added. “[He’s respecting the fact] her team is so protective of her image and it was so volatile from Kanye’s side.”

Kanye West, who was married to Kardashian from 2014 to 2022, took several shots at Davidson while he was dating the reality TV star.

The rapper didn’t shy away from attacking Davidson on social media, referring to him as “Skete”.

“IF YOU SEE SKETE IN REAL LIFE SCREAM AT YHE (sic) LOOSER AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS AND SAY KIMYE FOREVER,” read one post, while West posted one last dig at Davidson after his split from Kim.

“Skete Davidson Is Dead at Age 28,” read an edited New York times front page.

An insider told People that Davidson was in trauma therapy due to the attacks, saying: “The attention and negativity coming from Kanye and his antics is a trigger for [Pete], and he’s had to seek out help.”

The source added that Davidson had “no regrets for dating Kim and wants it to be made very clear that she’s been nothing but supportive of him throughout their relationship.”

Davidson’s upcoming project, ‘Bupkis’

‘Bupkis’ is a comedy series based on Davidson’s life, albeit “a heightened, fictionalized” version of him according to a release from Peacock.

The show sees Davidson star alongside Oscar-winner Joe Pesci, who plays his grandfather, while Emmy-winner Edie Falco is his mother.

Along with starring in the show, Davidson will also write and executive produce the half-hour, live action comedy.

All eight episodes of the show will be available on Peacock on May 4.
