Ryan Reynolds is finding there is more to contend with than he bargained for after purchasing Wrexham AFC and leading them to League Two.

Is Lively up for the summer in Wales?

The Canadian-born actor now is tasked with convincing his wife, ‘Gossip Girl’ star Blake Lively, to move to Wales for the summer as he oversees the direction of the club following promotion

Although she clearly supports Reynolds’ Wrexham “obsession” — and is pretty pumped about the team herselfsigns are pointing to Lively not being so keen to spend the whole summer in Wales.

Reynolds has already purchased property only a few miles away from the Wrexham pitch.

Lively might be too busy

According to the Daily Mail, a source said Blake has a lot of plans, both professional and social, already lined up for the summer and that Reynolds will be hard-pressed to convince her to move.

The insider specified Lively has several appointments lined up with directors to discuss future projects, and has been making social plans with her supermodel gal pals Gigi and Bella Hadid.

While Lively enjoys spending time in Wales and cheering on Wrexham alongside her husband, she wants to focus on her own life as well.

Reynolds is “obsessed” with the team, the source noted, but at the same time, “Blake is ready to get back to work.”

Living there full-time is a no-no,” they added.

How successful is Wrexham?

Reynolds began long negotiations with steep promises with the Wrexham board in late 2020, and he and his business partner, fellow actor Rob McElhenney, sealed the deal and acquired the club in early 2021.

Since then, the Hollywood duo has brought the low-rank team up to League Two. They’ve also turned the club into a global phenomenon through their Disney+ docuseries, ‘Welcome to Wrexham’, and have invested in marketing and trademarks, the town’s local community, and are building a new grandstand at the Wrexham pitch.
