Will Smith enlists ‘Bad Boys’ Rodrygo & Messi for new film promo

The veteran US actor is doing the promotional rounds for ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ and has been hobnobbing with some high profile sports stars.

Bad Boys is one of the highest-grossing sagas in Hollywood and was instrumental in springboarding the careers of actors Will Smith and Martin Lawrence with the fourth instalment in the series poised to hit cinemas across the world next month.

This time cop duo Mike and Marcus work side by side again as they are set up by an inside job and have to battle their own law enforcement, Miami gangs and South American drug cartels with a high octane backdrop to the film which opens on 7 June.

Will Smith is currently on promotional duty ahead of the film’s release and has hooked up with two major soccer stars in Real Madrid striker Rodrygo Goes and Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi.

The Madrid forward published a carousel photograph with Smith and presented the American actor with a personalized Copa America Nike Brazil jersey and entitled the post as “Meeting an idol” on the Instagram stories post.

The actor is currently in the Spanish capital of Madrid and will appear on the popular late night talk show El Hormiguero with the forthcoming appearance set to be his first on the show since the the notorious ‘slap’ that made the 2022 Oscar gala one of the most viral in all of history.

Bad boy Messi

Before making the trip to Spain, Smith and his co-star Martin Lawrence and Will Smith spent time with Argentina and Inter Miami star Messi in the South Florida city.

“Kicking with the boys”, wrote both adding the all important #BadBoys hashtag as the three play around with Messi showing his pinpoint precision in striking a soccer ball directly at the lens of the camera.

The Bad Boys films have gradually increased in popularity with first instalment delivering net profits of 141 million dollars with Bad Boys 3 ‘For Life’ generating $427M with expectation high that the fourth will eclipse the profilts of the previous releases.
