NFL star Travis Kelce is not expected to join girlfriend Taylor Swift at today’s MTV Video Music Awards, as the Kansas City Chiefs tight end prepares for the Super Bowl champions’ second game of the new season.

Will Swift add to huge VMAs haul?

Singer-songwriter Swift is the top-nominated artist at the VMAs, which are to be held at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. The 34-year is up for 12 awards, including Artist of the Year and Song of the Year.

So far in her career, Swift has won 23 VMAs - a haul that is second only to Beyoncé, who has 30.

After Swift was in Kansas City to watch Kelce and the Chiefs begin the 2024 NFL regular season with a 27-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens last Thursday, the high-profile couple were snapped out and about together in New York over the weekend.

They were seen having dinner in Brooklyn and stepping out for a wedding in Greenwich Village, and were in the stands at Flushing Meadows to watch the US Open men’s singles final.

Kelce’s Chiefs get ready for Bengals battle

Now, though, Kelce and the Chiefs are busying gearing up for another home clash in Week 2, as the Cincinnati Bengals visit Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. The match-up is scheduled for a 4:25 p.m. ET/1:25 p.m. PT start, with viewers in the United States able to watch the game on CBS and Paramount+.

Your streaming options for the Bengals vs the Chiefs also include the online platform fubo, which offers new users a free introductory trial.

2024 VMAs: start time, how to watch

Hosted by rapper Megan Thee Stallion, the 2024 VMAs are scheduled to begin today, Wednesday September 11, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT. US TV viewers can watch on MTV, BET, BET Her, CMT, CC, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TV Land, VH1 and Univision. You can also stream the event on Paramount+ or fubo.

At the top of the nominations ranking, Swift is followed by Post Malone with 11, and Eminem with eight.

With the VMAs coinciding with the 23rd anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks in the US, the awards organisers have pledged to donate proceeds from the show to 9/11 Day and Tuesday’s Children.
