Tax Season 2025: Don't miss out | IRS information for in-person appointments
The 2025 tax season is underway, and Americans have until April 15 to file. Here is the special timetable for taxpayers to get in-person help from the IRS.

The 2025 tax season is underway. The IRS will continue to receive and process tax returns for fiscal year 2024 which are due April 15. Taxpayers who file an extension request can have until October 16 to file their return.
As the tax season continues, the IRS announced last week special Saturday hours on select dates over the next several months. This schedule will apply to all Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TACs) throughout the country.
Tax season: IRS special schedule for in-person assistance
According to information from the US tax agency, taxpayer assistance centers will offer extended hours through May 1, 2025.
The IRS informs those interested in face-to-face appointments to have documentation ready when arriving at the center:

- State identification card
- Passport
- Social Security Card
- Tribal membership document
- Car Title
- Voter Registration card
- Mortgage Statement
- Lease agreement for rental domicile
- Utility Bill with current address
- Birth Certificate
- School Records

At TACs, people can receive in-person help from IRS staff. These centers are not normally open on Saturdays and individuals must make an appointment to receive services.
The Taxpayer assistance centers are open for people who need help and can’t do their taxes online or with phone assistance. The IRS reminds those who neet to go to a Taxpayer Assistance Center to not take food or drinks, cameras or weapons and if you feel ill, please reschedule your appointment.
