One of the most important celebrations of the year is approaching: Christmas. In addition to being a time when families gather, it is also a time of year when Americans shop til they drop, with sales of hundreds of millions of dollars.

In November, the National Retail Federation (NRF) shared its forecast for holiday spending this year. The NRF said spending is expected to reach record levels during November and December and grow between 3% and 4%, reaching between $957.3 billion and $966.6 billion.

“It is not surprising to see holiday sales growth returning to pre-pandemic levels,” said NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay. “Overall household finances remain in good shape and will continue to support the consumer’s ability to spend,” he added.

If you haven’t done your Christmas shopping yet or you don’t have all the gifts from your family or friends, we’d like to share with you four discount app options to save a little money.

In addition to offering coupons and discounts, some of these options have refunds or give cashback.

Rakuten

This app offers a variety of discount codes for online and in-person purchases at more than 3,500 retailers, including Target, Best Buy, and Walmart. In addition, it offers refunds, between 1% and 10%. “Stores pay us a commission for sending you to them. We share it with you as Cash Back,” says the Rakuten web portal.

Fetch

Fetch is a point accumulation service by uploading printed or digital receipts of your purchases at supermarkets, liquor stores, gas stations and convenience stores, among other stores.

Once a certain number of points have been accumulated, users can redeem them for gift cards at different restaurants and stores, such as Target and Amazon. More details here.
