This new series is based on the book ‘Fire & Flood’ by George R.R. Martin, which focuses on the origins of House Targaryen.

Dropped out of school
Milly Alcock dropped out of high school during her senior year to follow her dreams and pursue an acting career, which is when she was given the opportunity to play Meg, a teenage runaway in Upright, an Australian drama production.
“School has never been for me. I have never been someone who thrived in a school environment. There is a stigmatization of people who drop out of school. But I couldn’t turn down Upright. I found that ridiculous and infuriating. I couldn’t say no and I couldn’t let the fear and anxiety of not finishing school haunt me, because that would have frustrated the whole purpose of leaving,” she revealed to the Sydney Morning Herald.
Made her acting debut in 2014
Her first role was “Teen Girl 1″, an Australian television show; however, her most notable role so far was that of Upright as Meg. As a result, she won the Rising Star award. 2018 of the Casting Guild of Australia.
Worked washing dishes
Although she already had a brief career on the small screen, Milly couldn’t afford to live a life of luxury just yet, which is why she chose to wash dishes as a side job.
“I never thought this would happen to me… I was washing dishes in a restaurant, living in my mother's attic. This doesn't happen to people like me…”, said the Australian, who was at a friend's house cooking dinner when she received the news of HBO.
