A doctor warns about the risk of drinking water in this daily way: “Increased risk of heart attack”
Doctor and health educator Isabel Viña shared five simple tricks for improving your health with little effort on the B3tter podcast.

Few sensations produce as much pleasure as grabbing an icy cold bottle of water on a hot July afternoon. When temperatures are soaring, we are forced to find something to cope with the suffocating heat - that’s when our natural connection with water really kicks in.
However, as miraculous as it is seemingly innocent, guzzling cold water in some circumstances, can be more dangerous to our health. The problem lies not in the water itself but its container. Doctor Isabel Viña gave a detailed explanation of the issue during a recent visit to the B3tter podcast, in which she shared “five tips that will improve your health with less effort.”
Billions of microplastics ingested
Doctor Viña’s first tip is to “wash fruit and vegetables well before eating them,” as this can “eliminate up to 94% of potential hormone-disrupting components.”
She goes on to discuss the issue of nonstick Teflon coated pans: “Any nonstick pan is a breeding ground for other hormone disruptors. What are the best alternatives? Cast iron, enameled cast iron, and stainless steel.”
To end, she addressed the issue of water. “Bottled water seems like a no-brainer, but plastic transfers trillions of microplastics into the water you then drink,” she explained, adding to the seriousness of the problem by stating that “one study found that people who had more microplastics on their plaque had a higher risk of plaque being released in the future, causing a blood clot and a heart attack.”
On the subject of plastic, Doctor Viña stressed that plastic containers should never be placed in a microwave because, once heated, it exponentially increases the transfer of plastics to food. It is particularly hazardous if the food contains animal fat or is acidic.
