A man buys a jug at a thrift store and its value multiplies by hundreds: “A very tidy profit”
It seemed like an ordinary metal jug that cost three dollars, but a single symbol on it ended up changing everything.

Thrift shopping is a common habit for millions of people around the world, and from time to time it can lead to unexpected surprises. That is exactly what happened to a man in Australia after he purchased what appeared to be an ordinary silver pitcher for three dollars, only to later sell it for a much higher amount.
The person who made the discovery is Nick Sady, who regularly buys and sells items on eBay, although he has also found many memorable treasures outside the internet. It all began with a 1956 Superman board game, his first major find, which he discovered discarded in the trash.
Since then, Sady has routinely visited thrift stores in his area, always on the lookout for something special, and that is how he came across the silver pitcher.

A discovery that ended up being sold for far more than its purchase price
“I’ve been picking up and looking at the bottom of everything silver I can find. I’m looking for Hallmarks. In this case, the all important lion with a raised paw that indicates a piece is Sterling silver,” Sady explained to Newsweek. Most of the time, these items turn out to be silver-plated, but when they are sterling silver, it means they are 92.5 percent pure, classifying them as a precious metal.
The silver pitcher, which he bought for just three dollars, ultimately sold for a little over 500 dollars. “A very tidy profit,” says Sady, noting that the research he has done on these types of objects has clearly paid off.
