A man finds a Taco Bell untouched since 1995 and the video leaves no doubt: “I can’t believe what I see”.
Despite its advanced state of decay, the location still preserves the distinctive and colorful retro furniture from the 1990s—even including an old VHS tape.
Taco Bell is one of the most successful fast food franchises in the world. Since its debut in 1962, the restaurant—known for its Mexican-inspired cuisine—has expanded to over 8,000 locations across 32 countries. However, none is quite as special as the one discovered by user RangerRickTV.
A native of Louisiana, United States, the young urban explorer found a Taco Bell location that had been shut down for over 30 years, and shared his experience on his YouTube channel and TikTok profile, according to Newsweek.
“I can’t believe what I’m seeing. I just found an abandoned Taco Bell that’s a time capsule,” he says in amazement.
In the video, RangerRickTV walks around the property, filming the inside of the Taco Bell. Despite the heavy deterioration, the space retains its vibrant ‘90s decor, which he says reminds him of the iconic American TV show Miami Vice.
Among the items inside, he finds an old VHS tape featuring an advertisement for Fort Rapids, a water park in Columbus, Ohio, which closed in 2016 due to poor sanitary conditions.
An Incredible Place
RangerRickTV has chosen not to reveal the location. As an urban explorer, he’s fascinated by abandoned places and wants to protect them from potential vandalism.
“A subscriber gave me the location. I’ve been exploring for eight years, and I got into this because I’ve always been passionate about finding beauty in decay,” he says.
Since he began, he has ventured into all kinds of abandoned sites—mansions, power plants, even old theaters—and uncovered a wide variety of objects and spaces. However, rarely has he had the chance to explore such a unique fast food location.
“I have no idea why it’s still there, and I’m sure there are others like it—but they’re hard to find and rarely accessible,” he concludes.
