A woman from Spain who lives in the United States says the food is “making me sick” and explains why
A Spanish TikToker has shared a video in which she talks of her dissatisfaction with the food on offer in the U.S.

Despite being one of the world’s most economically powerful nations, the United States faces a serious issue that often catches newcomers off guard: food quality. Many who arrive in the land of stars and stripes quickly notice that what ends up on their plate may not meet the standards they’re used to - sometimes with real consequences for their health.
“There are things I wouldn’t eat in Spain”
That’s exactly what’s happening to Carolina Moura. The content creator, currently living in the U.S., recently posted a short video on TikTok where she claims that the food is “making me sick.” In the clip, she breaks down the reasons behind her declining health and shares her concerns with her followers.
“The first thing that probably comes to mind is that I’m not feeling well - and honestly, there are things I wouldn’t eat in Spain,” Moura begins. “But that’s not really the issue here.” She then shifts focus to how food is processed in the U.S.: “There are a lot of people here, and feeding everyone cheaply means cutting corners - using methods that might not be the healthiest,” she explains.
Moura points to specific examples: “Take chicken, for instance. It has to be cleaned somehow to eliminate bacteria… They use chlorine. And pigs? They’re injected with a hormone that’s banned in 160 countries,” she says.

Toward the end of the video, Moura shares how her health has been affected. She’s says she’s feeling “not great” and says her immune system is “extremely weak.” Her solution? “Buy organic. You have to spend more to eat organic,” she concludes.
TikTok users offer advice
The video has struck a chord online, racking up over three million views, 300,000 likes, and nearly 2,000 comments. Viewers have flooded the comments section with advice, recommending places where Moura can find healthier food op
“Go to Whole Foods,” “Shop at Whole Foods, that’s the answer,” “Whole Foods!” and “Publix is a good-quality store, more affordable than Whole Foods” are just a few of the many suggestions users have offered.
