Amazon Prime Day 2024: The best deals for pets | Beds, toys...

Here are the best Amazon Prime Day deals for your pet.

They really have been so very good this year, haven’t they? Your pet certainly deserves a treat for giving the best cuddles and no longer growling/hissing at the next door neighbour. OK, so they still do that and your cushions are a mess but that’s not really important, they’re still the joy in your life and need treats.

Of course, only get these goodies if you can afford them and I’m not saying neglect local business in favour of giving Bezos another jet/yacht/[insert luxury mode of transport here], but a saving is a saving and Amazon Prime Day(s) is a good way to make sure you keep hold of a few pennies in these testing times. Let’s go...

Blink Outdoor 4 + Amazon Echo ($189.98 to $59.99): This nifty device is a wire-free security camera that helps you protect your home right from your smartphone screen. Connect it to your Alexa and it has a 1080p camera that also has night vision, which is, as we all know, one of the coolest things in existence. You can get a live feed to the camera as well as arm and disarm your alarm using your voice. It can be stuck on the outside or inside of your house to keep an eye on your pet and has a 2-year battery life.

Furbo 360° Dog Camera ($210 to $129): Sticking with the pet cams, next up we’ve got this Furbo 360º camera. Like the previous device, this provides a live stream right to your phone of what your pet is up to while you’re away and can rotate 360º for those moments when they nestle into that end of the chair. You can zoom in on the footage, record at night and receive alerts if your pooch gets a bit barky. But the best thing by a country mile is the function that allows you to toss treats to your pets. Oh yeah, really. It’s got a treat gun.

Waterproof XL doggy bed ($79 to $47): This bed is down by almost 50%, and those with larger pets will know how expensive things can get at the top end of the size scale. The type of foam used is elastic, meaning that it’s perfect for older dogs with anxiety and large dogs with arthritis. And you can smack it all in the washing machine if it gets wet as it’s completely waterproof and won’t get ruined if there are any accidents.

Cat Scratching Post ($41.99 to $29.99): No, I haven’t forgotten about you cat owners. This cat scratching post is down from over $40 to lower than $30 and will look lovely in your living room, right below the ‘Live, Laugh, Love’ sign next to the mirror that you spray painted silver. I’m joking, of course: this palm tree post promotes healthy paw maintenance and is large enough for your cat to stretch out like a real diva. It comes with 3 Hanging Pompoms for the more ambitious feline in your family.

Neakasa M1 Open-Top Self Cleaning Cat Litter Box ($599.99 to $399.99): OK, this one is still a bit pricey but the discount is relatively big on what is a fantastic piece of tech. The open-top litter box doesn’t stress the cat out and then when its business meeting has concluded, the machine simply, as the website says, ensures that waste is enclosed in an odour-blocking bag with just a pull. It is a mammoth of a machine, and offers up to 14 days of kitty mess inside its container unit. As with everything these days, there is an app that allows you to monitor how things are going. 2024, eh.

Interactive Cat Toys Ball ($25.99 to $15.99): This cat toy is basically a ball that rolls itself and just needs a good pat from a paw to get the game started. It’s a perfect way to keep your cat entertained when you’re not there to offer it the immediate and eternal attention it demands and deserves considering all the work it puts into maintaining order in the household.
