Berlin car crash | What happened and latest news of injured in West Berlin
Around 30 people have been injured and one reported death after a vehicle was driven into a crowd in western Berlin.
A small Renault car has hit dozens of people in the west Berlin district of Charlottenberg. According to emergency services, about 30 people are injured. A death has also been reported.
The driver has been detained. At this stage it is unclear whether the incident was an accident or an intentional crash. Taking place on Rankestrasse, it is very near to the scene of the 2016 market crash in which 11 people were killed. Islamic State claimed responsibility for that attack.
What is the latest from Berlin?
Reports say the vehicle came off the street and mounted the pavement before crashing into a shop front. Photos on social media show a silver Renault Clio through a display window in a cosmetics shop.
According to emergency services around 60 emergency workers are on the scene.
