Coca-Cola fans rejoice! One of your (likely) all-time favorite drinks is hitting the shelves again soon, and it’ll be hitting the shelves again in exactly the way you remember it when you were young (if you’re of a certain age).

Coke has traditionally been sold in a variety of different flavors and forms, including Lime, Vanilla, Ginger Lime, Twisted Mango. But, if social media is anything to go by, Diet Cherry Coke has a special place in the heart of many drinkers, who have been delighted to learn it’s on its way back…with retro packaging no less!

Coke drinkers excited by Diet Cherry Coke comeback

“I am way too excited for this one - Diet Cherry Coke is returning for a limited time with retro packaging!” revealed Instagram foodie Snackolator.

“It’s been years since the OG Diet Cherry Coke has been out so I’m really looking forward to getting it again”.

“Why limited? Just bring it back for you,” commented another Instagram user. “Where can I find! This is an emergency!” pleaded a third.

Diet Cherry Coke was launched in 1985 but was mysteriously ditched in 2020, with Coca-Cola never revealing the reason why. The company has clearly now seen the error of their ways, although the “limited time” nature of the drink’s comeback suggests it could simply be a trial run, or a brief fling.

When can I buy Diet Cherry Coke in the United States?

No more details have been made public just yet, although it is expected to be back in stores for the summer season in the United States, which technically starts around June 20.

For many, though, it feels as if summer is already upon us, so you might be in for a welcome surprise the next time you head down to your local grocery store.
