The 80th Annual Columbus Day Parade is set to take place on Monday, October 14, 2024, in New York City, celebrating Italian-American heritage and culture. This event, which attracts over a million spectators, will result in several street closures in Manhattan to accommodate the parade route and festivities.

The parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. and is expected to conclude around 3:00 p.m.

It will start on Fifth Avenue at 44th Street and proceed north along Fifth Avenue, ending at 72nd Street.

The route of the parade

To ensure the safety of participants and spectators, the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic on October 14, 2024, from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.:

Formation area

  • 43rd to 46th Streets between Madison and Sixth Avenues
  • 47th Street between Fifth and Madison Avenues

Parade route

  • Fifth Avenue between 44th Street and 72nd Street

Cross streets

  • 44th to 72nd Streets between Madison and Sixth Avenues (as the parade progresses)

Dispersal area

  • 72nd Street between Fifth and Madison Avenues

Additional closures

  • 60th Street between Madison and Fifth Avenues
  • 62nd to 64th Streets between Madison and Fifth Avenues
  • 68th Street between Park and Fifth Avenues

How to watch the parade

Spectators can line up along Fifth Avenue from 44th Street to 72nd Street to watch the parade. It’s recommended to arrive early to secure a good viewing spot, especially near the start of the parade route.

For those unable to attend in person, the parade will be broadcast live on WABC-TV Channel 7 and streamed on ABC 7 New York, starting at 12:00 p.m.
