The husband of country singer and actress Dolly Parton, Carl Dean, passed away at the age of 82 on Monday she shared via a post on Instagram. He is survived by his siblings Sandra and Donnie the announcement added.
The couple had been married for nearly sixty years, tying the knot in 1966, two years after they met. “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together,” Parton said. “Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years.”

The Instagram post did not mention a cause of death. Besides the message from Parton and the news of his death, it merely informed that Dean will be laid to rest in a private ceremony according to the statement with only immediate family attending.
