Update:

Have you ever thought about buying a town? Now is your chance - a five-acre town in Montana called Pray is up for sale (again) for the bargain price of $2.6 million. What gives Pray its unique charm is its history - and its post office.

Century of history up for sale in Montana

The town of Pray was established in 1909, named after congressman Charles Nelson Pray, who represented the state of Montana at its inception. And although it never became a major city, Pray has maintained its spot on the map, with its general store, Amish-built log cabins, and hand-delivered mail a reminder of the town’s rich history.

Pray is one of the few frontier towns that still has its own zip code - 59865 - thanks to its charming old post office, which offers buyers a unique distinction from other towns up for sale.

The current owner also serves as the town’s unelected mayor, adding to its small-town charm. Over the last five years, Pray has been functioning as a short-term rental business with proven income and includes a duplex which adds to its potential.

Surrounded by natural beauty and close to attractions like Yellowstone River, Sage Lodge, Old Saloon in Emigrant, and Yellowstone Film Ranch, where Hollywood westerns are often filmed, Pray blends rustic Montana living with business potential. The sale offers not just real estate, but a piece of American history - complete with its own parade and enduring frontier spirit.
