Update:

Medicare Advantage members with NationsBenefits can now add their benefit cards to their online Walmart account. This will unlock “a customized and easy-to-navigate digital experience,” that they can use to more easily find over the counter items as well as food and wellness products that are benefits eligible said the Arkansas-based retailer in a press release.

The program, which is a first of its kind, will allow users to maximize their benefits by marking products which are “benefits program eligible” with a badge on their website. Or for those shopping in-store, the benefits-eligible badging will show up when scanning items in the Walmart app.

They can also filter their search results to streamline their shopping experience. Additionally, those who sign up will be able to track their benefits in real time, so they know how much they have left to spend.

The retailer notes that Medicare Advantage members forfeit billions of dollars every year because roughly two-thirds of them never use their supplemental benefits.

In order to sign up, customers simply have to go to Walmart.com/wallet and add their benefit card to their account.

Walmart helping customers eat healthier

“Half of Americans are trying to eat healthier,” said Walmart in the same press release. So, in order to take the guesswork out of eating healthy, the Arkansas-based company rolled out a new digital platform powered by AI, Everyday Health Signals, as “research shows that a curated experience with healthier food options leads to better choices.”

Customers can opt into the platform which connects to their Walmart.com account. It will then analyze their purchase history “to deliver practical tips, like nutrition analysis and shopping lists,” explains the retailer that will provide “personalized guidance that aligns with their wellness goals.”

“We’re innovating with tech-enabled health solutions that equip customers with a better understanding of how small decisions in the grocery aisle can help improve their overall health,” said Walmart’s group director, consumer health and data solutions Pravene Nath, MD.

“By allowing customers the opportunity to make more informed choices with Walmart Everyday Health Signals, we’re creating the opportunity for widespread health impact,” he added.
