Sergey Brin is reported to want to withdraw investments he had in the companies after requesting a separation from his wife, Nicole Shanahan.
Elon Musk is once again in the eye of the storm. The tycoon, who already had an affair with actress Amber Heard, Johnny Depp’s ex-wife, and who ended his relationship with the singer Grimes a few months ago, has now been hit by information offered by The Wall Street Journal, where they report that his actions have caused the breakup of the couple formed by the co-founder of Google, Sergey Brin, and Nicole Shanahan.
Brin reportedly pulls Musk investment over affair
It’s a rupture that has also caused Brin to abandon Musk’s project at Tesla, after the tycoon had an affair with his wife at the beginning of December at the fair Art Basel in Miami, and which resulted with a request for separation in January after three years of marriage and having had a daughter together. Brin had considered Musk a good friend.
What one billion dollars really means
At the moment, the amount that Sergey Brin has invested in Musk’s companies is not clear, although it is worth noting that his fortune is valued at around 90 billion dollars, which places him seven positions below the Tesla tycoon and SpaceX (the man who gave him one of Tesla’s first electric cars). It is also not known whether the divestment has been total or partial.
Elon Musk’s reaction
After the latest storm generated around him, Elon Musk wanted to speak out, and he did so through his Twitter profile, denying the news.
“This is total bs [bullshit],” he began. ”Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night!
“I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic.”
It’s a new scandal that adds to a long list for Elon Musk, who in November fathered twins with Shivon Zilis, an executive of his artificial intelligence company Neuralink. That came a few weeks before the birth of his second son with Grimes, whom they named Y. In total, Musk has nine children that we are aware of: five with his first wife (a sixth died a few weeks after birth), the twins with Shivon Zilis and the two little ones with Grimes.
In addition, there is also a rumor of sexual harassment around the entrepreneur, who is currently battling Twitter over ownership, with media outlet Insider reporting that the SpaceX company paid a stewardess $250,000 for her silence on the alleged assault from her boss in 2016. This information was also denied by the tycoon.
While some point to people’s ease at taking potshots and making claims to get a financial settlement from one of the richest humans alive, others suggest that so many smoke trails are unlikely not to lead to some fires.
