Have it your way: McDonald’s reveals news that loyal customers are going to love

We’ve all been there - late getting out of work, too tired to cook so decide to head to McDonald’s for a burger and fries, only to get there and find it’s closed.

Out of the fast food chain’s 13,428 locations in the US, over half are open 24/7 but the rest usually pull down the shutters around 10 p.m. The good news is that practically all McDonald’s restaurants will be opening a little longer this summer as the company announced plans to extend operating hours across the board.

McDonald’s open until midnight

McD’s confirmed the majority of US locations will stay open until midnight or later. However, the move does not includes its restaurants in airports, shopping malls or other areas that prohibit extended operating hours.

“Our fans know there’s no better way to end an unforgettable night than by feasting on your favorite McDonald’s order,” the company explained in a statement. “That’s why, as the summer season kicks off, we’re excited to offer up more ways for customers to satisfy their late-night cravings with more choices and expanded hours at more restaurants.”

To celebrate the occasion, McDonald’s will be handing out 1,000 virtual gift cards for free McCrispy Strips on Saturday May 24. To enter, fans must post an Instagram story with the hashtag: #DipforMcCrispyStripsGiveaway and tag @GoFooji.

McDonald’s recruiting in jobs bonanza

The decision to extend operating hours comes in the wake of a May 12 announcement which informed that McDonald’s is hiring. Up to 375,000 new positions, from crew team members to management, will be up for grabs in the US this summer.
