Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest and indictment comes after a months-long sex trafficking investigation and after he faced multiple allegations of sexual and physical violence.

Following his arrest, the three charges included in his indictment were revealed. The rapper faces charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation for prostitution. The producer has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The producer faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, potentially rising to life in prison if convicted of the three felony counts against him: racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation for the purpose of prostitution.

While awaiting his trial date, which could take months, Combs will remain in jail, having been denied bail.

According to the Associated Press, prosecutors have said they have interviewed more than 50 victims and witnesses of Combs’ abuse, but are hoping more people will come forward.

Federal judge denies bail to Sean “Diddy” Combs

Despite requests by Combs' legal team for bail and offers of various relief, including a $50 million payment, a federal judge in New York denied the request.

In addition to the $50 million bail, Combs’ attorneys promised that he would surrender his passport and submit to constant surveillance, as well as restrict travel to the Southern District of Florida and the Southern District of New York to attend court, meet with his attorney, and attend medical appointments, as well as to the Eastern District of New York or the District of New Jersey only to the extent that his travel to and from New York involves an airport in those Districts.

However, Robyn F. Tarnofsky accepted the arguments of prosecutors, who warned that Combs’ flight risk was very high.
