Johnny Depp appears on stage with Jeff Beck for second night amid defamation trial

Johnny Depp has appeared on stage alongside Jeff Beck in the UK for the second night in a row, amid his ongoing legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard.

After performing with at Sheffield City Hall on Sunday, Depp turned up at the Royal Albert Hall in west London on Monday night to play a second night on Beck’s European tour.

Depp’s surprise visit to the UK comes amid his multimillion-dollar defamation lawsuit with Heard. The Pirates Of The Caribbean actor took to the stage, prompting audience members to post videos of him singing on social media.

Depp awaits verdict

The 58-year-old’s appearance on stage has surprised many as he awaits a verdict in his defamation lawsuit with the actress.

Depp is suing his former partner over a 2018 article where she described herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”

Despite not naming Depp personally, there was little doubt as to who she was referring to and his legal team have claimed that he lost a significant amount of work and income on the back of this.

Depp is claiming $50 million in damages in the lawsuit and says that the allegations caused him to lose several high-profile film roles, including in the Fantastic Beasts and Pirates Of The Caribbean franchises.

Friday was the final day of courtroom action in the defamation case between Depp and Heard (36), with both sides delivering their closing arguments at the Circuit Court in Fairfax Country, Virginia.

Who is Jeff Beck?

Jeff Beck is an English rock guitarist. In the 1960s, Beck founded the Jeff Beck Group, featuring vocalist Rod Stewart and bassist Ron Wood. He was ranked 5th in Rolling Stone Magazine’s list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”.

In 1992, Beck was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Yardbirds, and in 2009 as a solo artist.

Depp is also a guitarist with Hollywood Vampires, a band formed by Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Depp himself in 2012.
