Lifting the carpet revealed a shocking secret no one expects to find at home
This homeowner got the surprise of their life when they discovered what was hiding underneath their feet.
In a spine-chilling revelation, a homeowner in Ohio uncovered a shocking remnant beneath the carpet of her new home: an outline resembling a human hand.
The homeowner peeled back the carpet only to be confronted with the spooky silhouette on the floor. “The property was my first rental property I purchased a few years ago. We had a tenant move out who destroyed the carpet so we had to replace the flooring,” real estate broker Nikki Snyder told Newsweek.
“I contacted the agent who’d handled the sale previously, and he let me know that there had been an ‘unattended death’ on the property in the middle of the summer with no air conditioning,” Snyder added. “He said there would likely be a significant body print underneath the carpet.” PEOPLE revealed in their report that it was “a house with no air conditioning” and the dead owner “was there for several weeks.”
Newsweek explains that “it appeared that the main portion of the damaged floor had been removed, leaving just the handprint," adding to the weirdness of the situation.
“They had cut most of the body print out ... But left what appears to be the arm and handprint. It definitely wasn’t done professionally and my reaction was actually amusement because they had cut corners—literally,” Snyder said.
As for what Snyder did, she told the tenants of the new home and “ended up just cleaning the floor and putting flooring over it. We won’t cut it out. We won’t cut it out until we really absolutely have to.”
