Marian Vera, expert in emotional intelligence: “People who overthink have these three qualities and almost no one talks about them”
People may feel that overthinking is some kind of flaw but emotional intelligence expert Marian Vera says it’s not and comes with 3 advantageous qualities.

Overthinking is often seen as a flaw, and many people wish they could simply switch off their minds but find themselves unable to do so. This topic has been addressed by emotional intelligence expert Marian Vera, who has gained recognition on social media.
In one of her videos, she explains that “people who overthink have these three qualities, and almost no one talks about them.”
Marian begins by saying that “First off it’s not a problem. It is a powerful mind, a very powerful one. These are people who feel quickly, understand deeply, and connect dots that others do not even notice.
“The conflict is not thinking itself. The conflict is using the mind to anticipate pain, to protect yourself, and to try to keep everything under control,” she continues. “When the mind is used to avoid feeling, something essential is lost. Presence, naturalness, and above all, life.”
“When someone lives too much in their head, they disconnect from their body and from the present moment. At that point there is no magnetism, only survival. Pure survival,” Vera says.

People who overthink and their qualities
The emotional intelligence expert continues by highlighting another trait. The second quality “is enormous sensitivity. They notice silence, shifts in energy, looks, and invisible tension.”
“But because no one taught you how to hold what you perceive, you turn it into doubt. You doubt your intentions and start wondering whether you did something wrong,” she explains. According to Marian, this is not a weakness but “sensitivity without a space to anchor it.”
Finally, she describes the third quality, the one she says she likes the most but that is also “the most painful.”
It is “a huge potential waiting to come out of you,” and she explains that “something is holding you back, and it is not a lack of courage, it is fear.” For Marian Vera, “the overthinker does not need to fix their mind. They need to reconnect with their body.”
