Microsoft global outage: what banking apps are down?
Widespread outages are being reported worldwide by companies that use Microsoft software including banks affecting the services they are able to provide.
Reports continue to come in from Microsoft users that their computers are experiencing a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) when they booted up on Friday. The problem impacting businesses globally stems from a faulty update by cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike.
The company has said that it is working on rolling back the update but it has caused disruptions for airlines, telecommunications companies, media broadcasters and banks. Here are the banking apps that users are reporting issues with today.

According to DownDetector, reports indicate that there are problems with VISA, the majority resulting with payments followed by complaints about the functioning of the website. Likewise, TD Bank appears to be having problems according to user reports of issues primarily with its mobile banking as well as a quarter related to online banking services and 19% having difficulty with online login.
Other banks that have possible problems on Friday according to DownDetector are Bank of America, Chase and Wells Fargo. The number of problems reported across the United States are still less than 100 for all the institutions except TD Bank which saw a spike in reports around 5 am ET.
