2024 WBSC Premier12 Super Round: Who plays Nov. 21? Times, TV and streaming
The United States face the holders on day one of the Premier12 Super Round, as the baseball tournament reaches its latter stages.
Defending champions Japan meet the United States on the opening day of the WBSC Premier12’s Super Round, as the international baseball tournament heads towards its conclusion this weekend.
Who has qualified for the Super Round?
Four teams - Japan, the USA, Chinese Taipei and Venezuela - made it through to the Super Round, which will see each side play each other once between Thursday and Saturday. The top two finishers in this round-robin phase will progress to Sunday evening’s championship final, while the bottom two teams will clash in the bronze-medal game earlier in the day.
Tokyo is hosting the Super Round and the Finals, after Mexico and Taiwan were the venues for the 12-team pool stage.
United States vs Japan: preview
The USA, who reached the Super Round by finishing second in Group A, face a team that they beat in the Super Round five years ago, in the most recent edition of the Premier12. That 4-3 win - which also came in the Japanese capital - was not enough to prevent the Stars and Stripes from having to settle for a spot in 2019’s bronze-medal game, which they lost to Mexico.
Japan, meanwhile, booked their spot in this year’s Super Round by topping Group B with a 100% record. That 2019 defeat to the Americans was the last time the world’s top-ranked country lost a Premier12 game; since then, the Japanese have won eight on the bounce in the competition.

The 2024 Premier12 Super Round game between the United States and Japan takes place at Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan, on Thursday November 21, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. local time. In the US, that translates into a 5:00 a.m. ET start. Viewers in the States can watch the action on the online streaming platform DAZN, which has the exclusive rights to the tournament.

Chinese Taipei vs Venezuela: preview
Before the Japanese and the Americans go head to head in the day’s big-name clash, Venezuela make their first appearance in the Premier12’s latter stages when they take on Chinese Taipei. The Venezuelans topped Group A, out-qualifying the USA, who they beat 5-3 during the pool stage. Group B runners-up Chinese Taipei, meanwhile, have progressed from the opening round for the second time, having finished fifth in 2019’s six-team Super Round.
