National Coffee Day discounts and freebies: Where to get a free cup of Joe on Sunday, Sep. 29
Coffee fans have a reason to perk up this weekend, as shops around the country celebrate National Coffee Day with deals, discounts and giveaways.
The United States is a coffee-loving country, with majority of Americans drinking coffee everyday. According to Statista, about 73% of consumers reported they enjoyed the popular beverage daily.
It’s no wonder that this drink gets a holiday all to itself. National Coffee Day is celebrated in the country every year on Sept. 29, which falls on a Sunday this year.
To honor the beloved beverage, coffee joints around the country including Dunkin’, Krispy Kreme, and even Starbucks are offering their customers discounts, promotions, and giveaways.

Aroma Joe’s
The handcrafted-coffee franchise is offering all its guests a free 20 oz. hot or iced coffee. Rewards members get an even bigger treat and receive a free 24 oz. hot or iced coffee which they can claim from Sept. 29 to Oct. 5.
The giveaway has a charity angle too. Aroma Joe’s will also donate $1 to Make-A-Wish for every free coffee they give away.
Biggby Coffee
The chain is encouraging diners to register for an account on their app so they can enjoy a free 16 oz. hot or iced coffee on National Coffee Day. Rewards members can sign up to join a contest with a $50,000 prize.
Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
The coffee shop is offering a buy one, get one deal for heir beverages on Sunday, Sept.29.

Duck Donuts
The doughnut shop is handing out a free medium hot or cold brew coffee on Sunday to customers who order in-store or online. If you are making a purchase online, use the code COFFEEDAY24 upon checkout.
Dunkin’
The coffee and doughnut chain is offering its reward members a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase on Sunday, Sept. 29. The freebie is limited to one per person, and you have to order ahead on the Dunkin’ app.
Krispy Kreme
The doughnut chain is always quick to celebrate food holidays- and most other holidays for that matter- and this time is no different. The shop is offering diners a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase on Sept. 29.
It also has a deal on doughnuts that are the perfect partner for your coffee. if you buy any dozen at regular price, you can purchase a dozen original glazed doughnuts for only $2.
Paris Baguette
The bakery-café is giving away free coffee the whole weekend. Rewards members can claim a free medium hot or iced coffee through Saturday and Sunday with any purchase.
Peet’s Coffee
Participating locations of the Bay Area-based specialty coffee roaster is handing out a free small drip or cold brew coffee on Sunday. Rewards members can upsize their beverages at no extra cost.
Playa Bowls
The New Jersey super fruit bowl chain is offering its Playa Rewards members a free 16-oz. Pumpkin Sweet Cream Cold Brew when they purchase an Apple Turn Up or Jack O Lantern Acai Bowl on Sept. 29.
Starbucks
The number one coffee brand in the U.S. is not known for its promotions, but this year Starbucks is celebrating National Coffee Day in a big way. It’s partnering with music duo Sofi Tukker to host a free Twitch live DJ streaming event from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. PT on Sunday.
The coffee chain is also partnering with Amazon for the celebration by offering a $10 discount for every $50 purchase of select coffee blends made through the online retailer on Sept. 29.
