Speedtest Global Index released its ranking, which measures the speed of fixed and mobile Internet. Here’s the city with the fastest internet.

Internet stability and speed have become essential standards demanded by thousands of users worldwide from various service providers. The Speedtest Global Index, a renowned ranking measuring fixed and mobile internet speeds, revealed in its latest report that a city in our country has surpassed major metropolises like London, New York, and Beijing. These cities are homes to millions of people and have had to build a strong infrastructure to support internet access for their populations.

Per the Speedtest ranking, Valparaíso, Chile leads the world in fixed Internet speed, reaching 321 megabits per second. According to the United Nations, the city’s estimated population in 2024 is 320,816. When it comes to mobile internet, used by cell phones, the Chilean city ranks 102.
Other cities in the top five for fixed internet include Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, Lyon in France, New York City in the United States, and Bucharest in Romania.
In Chile, approximately ninety percent of the population has Internet access. The country ranks fourth for fixed broadband speeds and 62nd for mobile internet speeds.
