Neither New York nor Florida: this is the state where they say “life is the most boring”
This northern state is one of the most picturesque in the land and many Americans would love to live there - just don’t expect any excitement.

It’s one of the largest states, one of the least populated and according to some, deathly boring. Nothing much happens in Idaho - never any drama, never any excitement. But no one can deny that it is one of the most stunningly beautiful, picturesque places in the land.
According to the most recent census, ‘The Gem State’ has a population of just 2,001,619 - ranked 39th nationwide. With its documented gold-rush history and rich resources of minerals and rare gems (opals, jade, sapphires, star garnet...), it’s not as though Idaho has nothing to offer - quite the opposite.

For those who like being close to nature, it’s a veritable paradise. The state boasts numerous ski resorts providing the prefect place for a winter getaway. Forget about the worries of the world skiing through a winter wonderland without a care in the world.
Trout fishing in America
Another of Idaho’s big attractions for those seeking to get away from it all to spend some time relaxing and contemplating life is its fishing hotspots. There are over 107,000 miles of rivers running through the state with dozens of blue ribbon fisheries (for salmon and steelhead) along with the many lakes, reservoirs, ponds, and creeks. Anglers can cast their lines for trout in the Owyhee or the South Fork of the Boise River - both famed for their cold-water fly fishing.

Idaho’s natural geothermal energy
Idaho is also renown for its hot springs. Enjoy a relaxing soak at any of the 52 natural hot springs hidden away in secluded spots in the backcountry.
So there’s plenty to see and do in Idaho - as well as thrills and adventure, just at a more gentle pace that in the noisy, bustling metropolises. And besides, the whole question of being boring is entirely subjective. One man’s meat is another man’s poison, as they say.
