Netflix to cancel cheapest ad-free plan: How much will the remaining plans cost?
Netflix is set to cancel its cheapest ad-free plan. Here are the remaining schemes the streaming platform is offering and how much each one will cost.
Users of the Netflix streaming platform paying for the cheapest advertising-free plan will soon have to choose another option to be able to watch their favorite series and movies.
The company had announced earlier this year it would begin to phase out its basic plan which costs $11.99 per month. In January, the company said it would withdraw its basic plan in Canada and the United Kingdom, while this week it said the United States and France will be next.
Last year, the company had stopped accepting new subscriptions for the basic plan, but existing users were allowed to keep it. However, they must now choose a more expensive scheme if they want to continue having an ad-free experience.

What plans does Netflix offer?
If you want to continue watching your favorite show or movie on Netflix without commercials, you will have to choose between two options: the Netflix standard plan, which costs $15.99 per month; or the premium plan, which costs $22.99 per month.
The cheaper choice is the advertising-supported plan that costs $6.99 per month. Here are the Netflix plans and what they include.

Standard plan with ads ($6.99 per month)
This plan includes ads, and some movies and series are not available. However, it includes unlimited mobile games and you can watch content on two compatible devices at the same time in Full HD. You can also download content on two compatible devices at the same time.
Standard plan ($15.99 per month)
Includes mobile games, series and movies without advertising and without limits. You can watch content on two compatible devices at the same time in Full HD. You can download content on two compatible devices at the same time. It also has the option to add one extra member who does not live in the registered house to use the platform.
Premium plan ($22.99 per month)
Includes mobile games, series and movies without advertising and without limits. You can watch content on four compatible devices at the same time in Ultra HD. You can download content on six compatible devices at a time. You have the option to add up to two extra members who do not live in the registered house.
It also offers spatial audio, which “improves sound without the need for surround sound speakers or home theater equipment,” according to the Netflix website.
In its second quarter earnings report, Netflix reported a record 277.65 million subscribers globally across all of its plan options.
