Nicolas Cage’s last wish in Hollywood: “I would like to try it”
In an interview with ‘Empire’, Nicolas Cage confessed that he would like to participate in a musical: “I think I would be a good Pontius Pilate.”
Nicolas Cage has become one of the most famous actors in Hollywood, more for his character than for his films. From his own perspective, Cage feels that he hasn’t yet left his mark as Dracula with ‘Leaving Las Vegas’ or ‘The Search’, and at fifty-eight, he is ready for the challenge.
The actor has given an interview to Empire, where he takes stock of his career, reviewing the different roles and genres he has starred in over the years. Cage, best known to younger audiences for his role in the National Treasure franchise, will be on the cover of Empire, talking about his interests for the future.
Cage is interested in acting in a musical
Nicolas Cage can sing!? Many (aside from those that have seen ‘Wild at Heart’) had no idea. But it turns out that acting in a musical is the actor’s hope.
However, exactly how talented Cage is in the singing department has yet to be determined, even by the actor himself. During the interview, he told Empire, “I haven’t done a musical yet. I would like to try it. However, the truth is that I’m not a very good singer. Well, I sang well in ‘Wild at Heart,’ or so I thought.”
Cage is used to singing at Kareoke and describes his performances as “crazy,” particularly his rendition of Prince’s Purple Rain. “But hey, I don’t know, I think he would be a good Pontius Pilate in ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’”, he added with a laugh, hinting that this could be a good role for him.
