The new month is ticking along and that means SNAP recipients are keen to know the arrival dates of their new payments.

What are SNAP coupons?

The US has various forms of economic aid with which it provides relief to those who need it most. One noteworthy program is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, popularly known as SNAP coupons.

Through this program, monthly coupons are provided to families in need who are struggling to put food on their tables. The amount depends on the situation of each family, especially on the number of household members. Whatever amount recipients are eligible for, money is deposited monthly to an EBT debit card, which is accepted at select stores.

Although the SNAP program is a form of assistance offered by the federal government, payments are administered by the state governments. This means that each state is required to issue its own coupons, which is why in some places the requirements and payment dates vary.
