How to apply for the $479 million Philips is paying to customers in compensation

Did you purchase any Philips Respironics sleep apnea machines between 2008 and 2021? Keep reading, because you could be eligible to receive part of the million-dollar compensation from the Dutch technology company.
The manufacturer has agreed to pay a settlement of $479 million to compensate customers who purchased certain respiratory devices belonging to the Philips Respironics line between 2008 and 2021. The agreement is the result of a collective complaint that ended with a resolution in September of this year.

Legal documents show that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) received nearly 105,000 complaints in recent years, “including 385 deaths related to foam leaks in continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines.”
Although the machines were withdrawn from the market two and a half years ago, those who bought or rented products from the Philips Respironics line can file a claim online to be eligible for a portion of the million-dollar compensation. Here’s how to request payment.

The company divides compensation for the purchase or rental of products withdrawn from the market into three main categories, which offer different amounts:
“This agreement ensures that the millions of Americans who purchased defective Philips devices receive significant financial compensation,” the plaintiffs’ lawyers declared through a statement.
