A night meant for music and revelry turned violent in Queens, New York, as gunfire erupted outside the Amazura music venue late Wednesday. Ten young people, aged 16 to 20, were injured in the chaos. Police are now hunting the suspects who carried out this brazen attack.

The shooting occurred around 11:20 p.m., with three to four males approaching a line of about 15 people waiting to enter the packed venue on 144th Place in Jamaica. The group opened fire, unleashing at least 30 rounds before fleeing the scene. The injured – six females and four males – were rushed to nearby hospitals and are all expected to survive.

The Amazura event hall was hosting a packed night, with 90 people inside and a line of hopeful attendees outside. According to NYPD Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera, the attack appeared targeted. The suspects, described as males who later fled in a sedan with out-of-state plates, approached and began firing without warning.

Police believe the attack may be gang-related, although no definitive motive has been established. Authorities are also clear that this was not a terrorist incident, despite its chilling similarities to other high-profile attacks in recent years.
