A truly shocking moment hit the United States as former President, Donald Trump, was apparently shot at during a rally in Pennsylvania.

Reports now say the shooter is dead.

Trump dropped to the ground as the Secret Service piled on top, covering the Republican as screams filled the scene and the apparent multiple gunshots could be heard coming in from the left. Once he was back on his feet, blood could be seen coming from his right ear as he raised his fist to the defiant crowd.

The Secret Service later confirmed that Donald Trump was “safe” after being immediately evacuated from the scene.

Was anyone injured during the shooting at the Trump rally? Did anyone die?

Initially, not a lot of information was known regarding any injuries, but soon after the incident, Sky News reported that two people are said to have died as a result of the shooting, while one is in a critical condition.

Who tried to shoot Donald Trump?

After the shooting, the Secret Service could apparently be heard saying “shooter down”, which suggested that the assailant has been apprehended.

“At the moment we have no details on who the shooter was, it is not clear, but it will be forefront of a very serious investigation going on now”, say Sky News’ US correspondent.

“This is an active investigation and further information will be released when available”, added the Secret Service. Various videos surfaced of a potential shooter being removed from the scene, although nothing is confirmed.

Later, the Washington Post reported that the shooter was dead.

“President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act,” spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement. “He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow.”
