Who’s receiving Social Security today, Wednesday, June 24?
Of the just over 71 million Social Security recipients in the U.S., many are paid on the second, third or fourth Wednesday in each month, depending on their date of birth.
Today is the fourth Wednesday in June 2026, so Social Security is scheduled to go out to beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st of any month.
June 2026’s full three-Wednesdays schedule is:
- Born on 1st-10th of any month: Wednesday, June 10
- Born on 11th-20th of any month: Wednesday, June 17
- Born on 21st-31st of any month: Wednesday, June 24
NB: If you claim Social Security benefits based on someone else’s employment history, the SSA refers to the other person’s birthday.

- June 3: Social Security paid to certain long-term beneficiaries
Social Security recipients since before May 1997 were paid on June 3, no matter their birthday.
- June 3: Social Security paid to beneficiaries also on SSI
Social Security can be combined with Supplemental Security Income (SSI), a benefit for certain low-income, low-resource individuals. Beneficiaries of both schemes got SSI on June 1, followed by Social Security two days later.

- Direct Express
Monthly payments can be loaded onto the Direct Express Card, a special debit card for federal disbursements. You can sign up for Direct Express at 1-800-333-1795 or 1-800-772-1213, or at a Social Security office.
