Space X Starship test flight details: launch date and time, trajectory, liftoff and drop spots...

Unless Space X announces a delay, the second attempt to launch the Starship will take place on Friday, 17 November.

So far, it looks like all systems are a go for the Space X Starship launch.

This is the second attempt to launch the spacecraft after it failed to make it into orbit in April of this year. Despite exploding only four minutes after its launch, the failure of the largest rocket ever created did not deter Musk. In fact, he considered it a success in its own right, as it had managed to surpass the maximum dynamic pressure, known as Max Q, during takeoff, exceeding initial expectations.

When will the launch take place?

From Boca Chica, Texas, the event will begin at 7:00 a.m. CT, and Space X will live-stream the event through their social media channels. Other space-related channels have already posted their live streams for those looking to get an early look at the spacecraft.

After the failure of the first mission, engineers have adapted the spacecraft based on the lessons they learned.

“Starship’s first flight test provided numerous lessons learned that directly contributed to several upgrades to both the vehicle and ground infrastructure to improve the probability of success on future flights,” reads a statement by the company.

What is the trajectory of the mission?

If able to get into orbit, the spacecraft will exit the earth’s atmosphere before quickly returning back to Earth for a water landing. The launch is more about testing the design of the spacecraft, and at a future date, a more extensive mission will be planned.

The Starship will take off from Texas, travel the circumference of the earth, and land in the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii.
