State Fair of Texas 2024: Dates, prices, where to buy tickets and how to get there
Another edition of the Texas State Fair will begin on Sept. 27. Here are all the details on how to attend the longest-running fair in the United States.
The State Fair of Texas is ready to offer another month full of entertainment and fun. With more than 138 years of history, the event has established itself as a space dedicated to “promoting agriculture and community participation in a family environment.”
When is the 2024 State Fair of Texas? Opening date and days
The State Fair of Texas lasts a few weeks. The opening date is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 27, while the gates will close on Sunday, Oct. 20. As every year, the event will be held at the iconic Fair Park, located at 3809 Grand Ave, Dallas.
State Fair of Texas: Prices and where to buy tickets
Ticket prices vary depending on the day, time, and type of ticket you wish to purchase. Here is a breakdown of the types of tickets and their respective costs so you can plan your visit:
Daily pass
- Monday through Thursday: $10 for children and seniors. $15 for adults.
- Friday: $15 for children and seniors. $20 for adults.
- Saturday and Sunday: $18 for children and seniors. $25 for adults.
- Oncor Discount: After 5 p.m., all adults enter at the child's price, any day of the week.
Premium or flexible: Valid for any of the days
- Day pass: $24
- 2 day passes and $50 in food and ride vouchers: $98
- 4 day passes and $50 in food and ride vouchers: $146

How to get to the Texas State Fair: Parking options
The easiest way to get to Fair Park is by public transportation. The closest DART stations are Fair Park and MLK Jr., both close to Gate 6 and the Cotton Bowl Stadium, the two main entrances to the event.
For those arriving by car, the fair offers parking. Tickets for Gate 2, located at 925 S. Haskell, are $20 per vehicle. On weekends, premium parking is available, with an entrance on Grand Avenue, and costs $40. If you are arriving by bike, parking is available at Gates 5, 6 and 11.
Free concerts and new attractions
The 2024 State Fair of Texas will also feature a series of free concerts. Confirmed artists for this year include Dasha, Jesse & Joy, Bowling for Soup, and Los Pescadores, among others. You can check out the daily schedule and performance times on the fair’s official website.
