Stephen King has fears too: The horror novelist reveals what scares him the most about Trump’s presidency
The prolific author of horror books was recently asked to “invent an ending for Trumpian America.” Good or bad, either way “it’s a horror story.”

Stephen King, prolific author of horror stories, spoke with Ali Velshi recently on his show Velshi Banned Book Club. He shared his thoughts on humanity saying, “You can call me a romantic if you want to, but I think that most people are inherently good, and they try to do their best.”
This led the host to ask about an answer he gave during a Q&A with The Guardian, about how the Trump presidency ends in which King said, either good or bad “it’s a horror story.”
Stephen King says Trump is dangerous
One of the questions from readers of The Guardian that King was asked was “If you had to invent an ending for Trumpian America, what would it be?”
The bestselling author offered what he thought would be a good ending, “I think it would be impeachment – I would love to see him retired, let’s put it that way.”
“The bad ending would be that he gets a third term and takes things over completely,” he continued. “It’s a horror story either way. Trump is a horror story, isn’t he?”
King expanded on this with Velshi. “The worst thing that I could think of is that this guy would get a third term,” King said. “Because he’s basically an idiot, isn’t he?”
“I mean he doesn’t read,” the author added. “He thinks he can’t do anything wrong. And so, that is a dangerous thing.”
“He is basically, I don’t want to use the word crazy, because I don’t really think that he is, but he’s certainly dangerous,” King concluded.
