Stephen Colbert sends Trump a warning: “Keep my best friend Taylor Swift’s name out of your filthy nugget hole”
President Donald Trump attacked Taylor Swift out of the blue on social media on Friday. On Monday, Late Show host Stephen Colbert took him to task.

Donald Trump has returned from his Middle East tour during which besides selling US weapons to the three countries he visited, Saudia Arabia, Qatar and UAE, he decided to reignite his social media war of words on Taylor Swift. Friday, he posted on Truth Social “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’”
So far, the Grammy-award-winning artist hasn’t responded, but Late Show host Stephen Colbert did. On Monday night’s show he told the 47th US president to “keep my best friend Taylor Swift’s name out of your filthy nugget hole.”
“Dear Leader” is trying to intimidate celebrities
Colbert led his show with a bit on how Trump is upset with Walmart for publicly saying that the company will have to raise prices due to the tariffs Trump has imposed that are “still too high.” The president told the retailer that it should “eat the tariffs” and said that he’ll “be watching.”
Then the comedian segwayed with “Dear Leader is also trying to intimidate another import sector of our American economy, our precious celebrities.” He shared with the audience Trump’s “out of nowhere” social media post talking derogatorily about Swift.
“First of all, sir, keep my best friend Taylor Swift’s name out of your filthy nugget hole,” Colbert said talking into the camera. “Second, it’s possible, hear me out, people are talking about her a little less these days because her 149-date Eras Tour ended six months ago.”
He then switched into his trademark Trump impression to ridicule the president even further. "Have you noticed how she hasn’t gone to Kansas City Chiefs games since February? Am I the only one?” he asked sarcastically, adding, “Also, Taylor hasn’t gotten a single Christmas present all spring. Santa hates you, Tay-Tay.“
The Late Show host then shared how Trump afterwards attacked Bruce Springsteen for comments the legendary singer made during a concert in Manchester, England calling Trump “incompetent”, “corrupt”, and “treasonous.” The president said also claimed that Beyoncé was paid $11 million for endorsing Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential campaign and that it was an “illegal campaign contribution.”
He leveled similar accusations on several A-List celebrities writing, “Springsteen, Oprah, Bono and perhaps many others, have a lot of explaining to do.” On a follow-up rant post, Trump wrote that he was “going to call for a major investigation into this matter.”
