The Bimini road mystery and the prediction made by an American psychic linking the ruins to Atlantis
Debates of ancient civilisations and the mysteries of the deep sea surround this mysterious phenomenon.
Off the coast of North Bimini in the Bahamas lies a submerged formation known as the Bimini Road. Discovered in 1968 (remember the date for later on) by divers Joseph Manson Valentine, Jacques Mayol, and Robert Angove, the structure consists of a series of limestone blocks arranged in a linear pattern underneath approximately 18 feet of water.
The rock formation extends about 1,500 feet in a northeast-southwest direction, with a curve at its southwestern tip. The apparently strange arrangement and the presence of right angles have led some to speculate that the Bimini Road is a man-made structure, possibly a road or pier. However, the prevailing scientific consensus attributes its origin to natural geological processes.
Geologists suggest that the Bimini Road is composed of beachrock—a type of limestone formed from the cementation of sand, shells, and coral fragments. Over time, natural erosion processes have shaped the beachrock into the current formation.
Unfortunately for those of a tinfoil hat persuasion, the uniformity and alignment of the blocks are likely the result of natural fracturing and erosion, rather than human intervention. Of course, this is 2025 and Donald Trump runs America, so believe whatever version of events you want.
Despite the scientific explanation, that hasn’t stopped the many from having a go at adding some spice to the story. In 1938, psychic Edgar Cayce predicted that remnants of Atlantis would be discovered near Bimini in the late 1960s. He is alleged to have said that records for constructing energy crystals were located “in the sunken portions of Atlantis, where a portion of the temples may yet be discovered, under the slime of ages and sea water near Bimini… Expect it in ’68 or ’69 — not so far away.” Remember the date I said to keep in mind?
