Earlier this year media personality Kourtney Kardashian and musician Travis Barker got married in a series of ceremonies.

They were wed in an Elvis impersonator-hosted exchanging of vows in Las Vegas. They then tied the knot in a legal ceremony in California, before completing the hat trick with a huge wedding celebration in a castle on the Italian coast.

But despite their three marriages, the couple still live in two houses.

Kardashian recently revealed that, as both have children from a previous marriage, they felt like they were not yet ready to combine the two families under a single roof.

Speaking to Amanda Hirsch on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, she said: “I think we’re in the place where we’re figuring out how to blend our households and our kids.

“For the most part, we’re getting those things in place. We do family dinner every Sunday night with all the kids at his house,” Kardashian said, adding that their current houses are in the same neighbourhood.

“There will be [a joint house],” she insisted. “We want our kids to also feel really comfortable and they have both lived in their homes their wholes lives, for the most part, and they each have their rooms. And we are a block away.”

She continued: “I get up at 6 in the morning and I carpool every morning. And then I go straight to his house and have matcha, he has it ready for me. And then we have matcha and talk and hangout and workout together and then we start our day.”

Kardashian and Barker’s ‘branded marriage’

The wedding trilogy culminated in late May in the Italian town of Portofino with almost all of the Kardashian-Jenner family in attendance. It was, of course, a meticulously crafted weekend of luxury and excess. As became clear from the perfectly poised wedding photos, the entire ‘look’ of the event was carefully designed by Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana.

All close members of the family appeared to have been dressed head-to-toe by the brand, with skin-tight outfits embellished with lace the go-to look. There were numerous costume changes each day throughout the weekend’s festivities.

While a degree of brand involvement was inevitable given the careers of the Kardashian family, The New York Times fashion reporter Jessica Testa explained that the carefully curated ceremony went a step beyond.

“We’ve seen brand partnerships play out at celebrity weddings before,” she said. “Usually in the bride’s outfits, or the Champagne served at the reception, or the hotel used as the venue — but never like this. The Milan luxury house effectively turned the weekend into an ad campaign in real time.

But when it came to final appearances, Testa was unconvinced that the collaboration had produced much more than a calculated sponsorship ploy.

She said: “It all seemed less like a wedding and more like a costume party. The theme being Italian excess, maybe?”
