It is within strike range of Iran, but hiding behind the Gulf means it has less vulnerability to anti ship missile fire. pic.twitter.com/c7W6afXYkA

Tensions are high as U.S. allies are urging Trump to hold off on military action. The U.S. president announced on Sunday that there would be a big announcement today, Monday, Jan. 26, but we have no more information about what he might announce.

Trump has warned Iran about harming protesters in the country, while the Iranian Foreign Ministry has told reporters that Tehran is “more than capable” of responding to any U.S. aggression.

The USS Abraham Lincoln isn't fighting alone. Its primary defense is the Carrier Strike Group (CSG)—a "Wolfpack" of Aegis destroyers that create a 100+ mile protective bubble. They track and intercept threats long before they reach the carrier. pic.twitter.com/DRFsjfexe1
The ABECSG conducts routine operations within the U.S. Seventh Fleet’s area of operations. The Seventh Fleet, the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, routinely engages and operates with allies and partners to preserve a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
The ABECSG, composed of the air wing of the future and a modernized Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer serving as the integrated air and missile defense commander (IAMDC), is capable of conducting simultaneous operations across multiple domains and warfare areas. It employs the most advanced technology and is staffed by highly trained personnel.
