GOBankingRates’ latest research, published on August 12, 2025, ranks cities based on liveability, significant senior populations, and financial health. Here’s which places across the United States made the cut:

  1. Dunedin, Florida – Topping the list with a liveability score of 84, it boasts 34.7% of residents aged 65+ and a comfortable median household income of about $68,000. Bright skies, walkable streets, and a warm character make it a standout.
  2. Ormond Beach, Florida – A close second with a livability score of 83, a senior population of 33.3%, and a median income near $67K. Think beachside serenity with enough local life to keep things interesting.
  3. Sebastian, Florida – Also scoring 83, Sebastian features nearly 36% seniors and an income hovering at $69K. Quiet, riverside living with a dedicated retiree vibe.
  4. Parole, Maryland – The top non-Florida entrant, with an 82 liveability score and 34.4% over 65. Its median income is notably high—around $119K—suggesting a polished, affluent lifestyle.
  5. Oro Valley, Arizona – With an 81 livability score and nearly 35% seniors, median income clocks in at about $105K. Desert skies, friendly neighbors, and well-kept neighbourhoods.
  6. Gulfport, Florida – Another Sunshine State contender: 81 liveability, 35.6% seniors, $68.6K median income. Charming coastal draws with a relaxed, small-town feel.
  7. Pompton Plains, New Jersey – A northeastern pick with a livability rating of 79, 34.7% seniors, and a strong income around $113K. Think green, quiet, and upscale.
  8. Estero, Florida – At 79 liveability, more than half of its population (50.7%) is senior, and the median income is about $100K. A well-known hotspot for retirees seeking modern comforts.
  9. Naples, Florida – A livability score of 79 and a whopping 56.2% aged 65+. Median income soars high at $141K. Upscale, sunny, and designed for the good life.
  10. Venice, Florida – Another high scorer at 79, with nearly 60% seniors and a median income of $74K. A picture-perfect retirement town with charm to spare.
  11. Cottonwood, Arizona – Liveability 77, 34.1% senior share, and median income of around $47K. Affordable desert escape with ample sunshine.
  12. Ocean City, New Jersey – Also a 77 liveability score, with 34.2% aged 65+, and median income just over $101K. Boardwalk energy with a peaceful residential side.
  13. Mesquite, Nevada – A liveability score of 77, and 45% over 65. Median income hovers around $74K. Casino-free, quiet desert living with affordable vibes.
  14. Tavares, Florida – With a 76 liveability rating and 38% seniors, median income is about $57.6K. Lake country tranquillity that’s low-stress and affordable.
  15. Punta Gorda, Florida – Rounding out the top 15 with liveability at 76, a senior-heavy population of 53.6%, and median income near $79K. Riverside charm meets laid-back Florida living.
