These are the states impacted by Canada's 25% surcharge on electricity exports in retaliation to Trump’s tariffs
Donald Trump confirmed Canadian imports would be subject to 25 percent taxes, causing retaliation from north of the border.

Donald Trump confirmed on March 3 that 25 percent taxes on imports from Canada, as well as Mexico, would begin on Tuesday (March 4). Although he later changed his mind and said the tariffs would not got into effect until April 2, the Canadians have retaliated with their own tariffs, more specifically on electricity exports to the US.
“President Trump’s tariffs are a disaster for the U.S. economy. They’re making life more expensive for American families and businesses,” said Premier Doug Ford. “Until the threat of tariffs is gone for good, Ontario won’t back down. We’ll stand strong, use every tool in our toolkit and do whatever it takes to protect Ontario.”
Canadians are standing up to Trump’s agression
“If they want to try to annihilate Ontario, I will do everything - including cut off their energy with a smile on my face,” Ford told reporters last week, according to the Toronto Sun. “They rely on our energy. They need to feel the pain. They want to come at us hard, we’re going to come back twice as hard”.

Canada has taken further action against the U.S.
Ontario has also answered Trump’s attack on Canada by removing all United States products from supermarket shelves, incuiding alcohol, which will cost American producers over $1 billion in lost revenue. US companies have also been banned from participating in government projects in Ontario.
