These beneficiaries will not receive money from Social Security in June 2024

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients will not receive money in June. Here’s why no payment will be made.

Update:
Social Security beneficiaries who get paid the first week of May

Month after month, the Social Security Administration (SSA) sends retiree benefits, survivors, and Disability Insurance payments. Social Security (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

Understanding the supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment schedule is crucial. Rest assured, these payments are reliably sent out on the first day of each month. However, it’s important to note that the SSA will not send money in June. Let’s delve into the reasons behind this.

The reason there will be no SSI payments in June

It’s worth noting that the Supplemental Security Income benefits are consistently scheduled to be sent on the first day of each month. However, there are instances when two payments are sent in the same month, as was the case in May.

The SSA sent the SSI payment for the month on May 1 and will send one more on May 31. But why does this happen?

Let’s shed light on the reason for the double payment in May. According to the SSA payment schedule, SSI benefits are sent out on the first day of each month. However, if the first day falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, payments are sent in advance, typically to the last Friday of the previous month. This results in two payments in one month, as we saw in May.

Because Monday, June 1, is a Saturday, the SSI payment is advanced and sent starting May 31. Therefore, Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries can rest assured that they will receive two payments in May, ensuring the continuity of their benefits, even though none will be sent in June due to the advance shipment. We are committed to ensuring your financial stability.

This is the complete payment schedule for June:

  • Monday, June 3: Beneficiaries who began receiving their payments before May 1997
  • Wednesday, June 12: Beneficiaries with a date of birth between the 1st and the 10th
  • Tuesday, June 18: Beneficiaries with a date of birth between the 11th and the 20th (sent on Tuesday because June 19 is the Juneteenth Day holiday)
  • Wednesday, June 26: Beneficiaries with a date of birth between the 21st and the 31st

How much money will be sent from Supplemental Security Income (SSI) in 2024?

This year, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits rose to $698 for individuals thanks to the cost of living adjustment (COLA).

SSI payments are sent via direct deposit to beneficiaries who have provided a bank account to SSA or a check via mail, which take longer to arrive.
