These people will receive $1,900 from Social Security on November 13: Find out if you are on the list
The SSA is preparing to issue the second batch of payments, corresponding to the month of November. Check if you are included in the list this Wednesday.
Some Social Security beneficiaries will receive an average payment of $1,900 this Wednesday, November 13, as the Social Security Administration (SSA) prepares to issue the second round of payments for the program, corresponding to the penultimate month of the year.
Every month, the SSA issues millions of payments to beneficiaries, including retired workers, their survivors and individuals on Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). For orderly distribution, the SSA issues payments based on the recipient’s date of birth.
Beneficiaries born between the 1st and 10th of any month receive their payment on the second Wednesday of the month. Those born between the 11th and 20th receive their payment on the third Wednesday, and those born between the 21st and 31st receive their payment on the last Wednesday. Workers who retired before May 1997 and those who receive SSI payments do not fall into the above scheme, since they receive their payments on the first day of the month, regardless of their date of birth.
How much money does Social Security distribute? These are the amounts
The exact amount of monthly payments varies by beneficiary, as the SSA takes into account several factors when calculating the payment. However, there are official estimates - from the Administration itself - that offer a broad overview of the possible payment amount for those who are about to apply for retirement.
In 2024, the average monthly payment for a retiree is $1,907. The figure rises to $3,303 per month for retired couples filing jointly; while SSI individuals can receive a maximum from the SSA of $943 per month and $1,415 if they are couples filing jointly.

Considering the distribution of payments and amounts, the beneficiaries who will receive an average payment of $1,900 dollars this Wednesday, November 13, will be those whose date of birth is between the 1st and 10th of each month. As for the rest of the November payments, the calendar is distributed as follows:
Social Security payments will increase starting in January
Year after year, the Social Security Administration makes certain adjustments to payments to match benefits with current inflation. This equalization is known as the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA). In 2024, the COLA increase was 3.2%, while in 2025 it will be 2.5%.
To find out how much money you will receive with the COLA increase, the SSA recommends adding 2.5% to your current amount. The Administration begins to inform beneficiaries of the new amount starting early December.
The SSA announced that this year beneficiaries will receive a newly designed and improved COLA notice in the post. “The simplified COLA notice is now only one page, uses plain and personalized language, and provides exact dates and dollar amounts of a person’s new benefit amount and any deductions,” said a SSA press release.
The increase will be reflected automatically starting in January. For more information, visit the official SSA website.
